ISYS100 ENTERTAINMENT!

1.       How does the video relate to your blog?
We went out to the streets of Macquarie University and asked students their view and opinions on different TV shows, common movies and entertainment around Sydney. The video relates to the blog as it focuses on entertainment in and around Sydney which is the main topic of our blog. We found that it was interesting to find out the thoughts of various different people with different personalities all around the campus as we all have a deep interest in the topic of entertainment. All our group members feel that the video strongly relates to the blog as it clearly reflects the topic of entertainment.

2.       The process of creating the video.
Firstly, we had to discuss many different ideas for the video within our group; this was a challenge due to everyone having contrasting opinions. We finally decided on the video being about interviewing various people around Macquarie University, seeking for answers and opinions on new entertainment content. Once the idea for the video was finalised we had to move on to the filming stage. Once all the appropriate footage was filmed, the next step was the editing process. Editing was the main challenge but once the editing was out of the way and to a high standard we then moved on to the submission of the video on YouTube to get marked. Everyone had different opinions about which editing software was the most appropriate and research was conducted to choose the software that fit best. Filming was a complicated task as a few of our group members were camera shy and embarrassed to approach random people and ask about their opinions on entertainment.

3.       The challenges in making the video.

The challenge in making the video was organising a suitable time to film that fit all our group members. Another challenge was coming up with a suitable idea for the video as the topic of entertainment is very broad which opened up many options for our group. Filming all the right footage was a challenge due to the lack of available equipment that our group could use for the filming aspect of the video. We finally decided that the Samsung Galaxy S3 was the right device for filming as the quality of the camera was the most suitable. Editing the video was another challenge due to none of our members being very familiar with Windows Movie Maker which led to a lot of discussion about who was going to initially undergo with the editing process. All in all, the whole process of creating the video was enjoyable however it was difficult getting peoples’ consent to be shown in our video due to privacy concerns.
